How does enrollment work?

TMO accepts applications at any time. Alumni and incumbent applications are processed first, handled in the order in which they are received. Processing then begins for all new families, handled in the order in which they are received. Submitting your application prior to the start of processing increases the likelihood there will be an opening for your child. TMO does hold a wait list when openings have been filled.

Class placement will be communicated as soon as possible. You will receive updates by email regarding the status of your application. Summer enrollment officially opens in March.

TMO teaching staff will place children in appropriate classes, generally grouping by age and considering each child’s specific needs. Children are placed carefully to provide the best all-around experience.

TMO does not discriminate on the basis of race, gender, color, or national or ethnic origin. Consideration will be given to children with special needs.

What happens after my child is assigned to a class?

Upon completion of class assignments, you will receive a Reservation Form indicating your child’s class placement. The signed Reservation Form and a $250 deposit must be received by the stated deadline to secure your child’s placement.

Once the Reservation Form and $250 deposit are received, parents are sent a packet of materials that includes the Emergency, Health, and Child Profile Forms. These forms must be returned to Toddler’s Morning Out at 166 Palmer Court, White River Junction, VT 05001.

Children may not attend class without these forms unless TMO has a Certificate of Religious Exemption in a Child Care Program form on file in lieu of the state required physical examinations and/or immunizations!

Are there tuition payment plan options?

Tuition may be paid annually, biannually, or quarterly.

There is a secure online payment portal on the password-protected For Parents page of this site to facilitate regular payments, but payment may also be delivered personally or mailed to Toddler’s Morning Out at 166 Palmer Court, White River Junction, VT 05001.

Does TMO offer scholarships or financial aid?

Scholarship money is available to help families who qualify for financial assistance.

To request financial assistance, download this form and return to Toddler’s Morning Out at 166 Palmer Court, White River Junction, VT, 05001.

Please email or call Margaret Lukovits, TMO Director at toddlersmorningout@gmail.com or (802) 649-8480 for further information.

What is your withdrawal policy?

Parents wishing to relinquish their child’s spot must notify our TMO Registrar, in writing by June 30.  Contact our Registrar with questions by emailing at tmoregistrar@gmail.com.

Parents who withdraw their child before June 30 will forfeit the $250 deposit unless another child fills the reserved spot prior to the first week of school.

Parents who withdraw their child after June 30 will: (1) forfeit their $250 deposit, and (2) be required to pay tuition for the full school year unless the spot is filled by another child, in which case the parents will be required to pay only for the period of time when the spot was unfilled. If, at any time during the school year, the Lead Teacher and Board of Directors of TMO recommend an alternative placement for a child, this financial obligation will be waived.

When is TMO in session?

TMO School Year classes generally run from early September to early June.

TMO follows the Hanover school calendar — if Hanover schools are closed or have a delayed opening due to weather conditions, TMO will be closed for the morning.

Please refer to the school calendar listed on the Parent Page for all dates.

Can I fill out a physical application instead of applying online?

Yes you can!

Physical applications are available outside the TMO classrooms or by emailing the TMO Registrar at tmoregistrar@gmail.com. You may also download the application here.

All mailed applications for the school year must include your nonrefundable $35 application fee and all summer applications must include at least a single week payment.

What is the Lunch Bunch program?

The Lunch Bunch Program allows children to spend an extra hour in the TMO classrooms immediately after classes. Lunch Bunch is offered after classes for children over 2 years old and is staffed by the lead and assistant teachers. Children are required to bring their own lunch from home.

If selected at the time of enrollment, the Lunch Bunch Program guarantees the availability of the added lunch hour on all school days attended for the year at a cost of just over $10 per lunch.

If the Lunch Bunch Program is not selected at the time of enrollment, there may be opportunities for “drop-in” lunch depending on availability. Drop-in lunches are a $12 charge per lunch hour.

What's a typical day like at TMO?

Daily Schedule

Arrival: Greet children and parents and help children settle into their classrooms or onto the playground.

Choice of Activities/Free Play: Children can navigate through learning centers at their own pace and try tabletop crafts and sensory play. As much as possible, activities will be offered outdoors.

Circle Time: Welcoming “Hello Song,” large group movement, fingerplays, and interactive activities about the current theme.  This is always fun with a few surprises!

Hand Washing/Snack: Children sit together for a healthy snack and often to enjoy books related to the current theme.

Diapering/Toileting: Teachers assist children with all the help they need while encouraging self-help skills.

Choice of Activities: Children are offered new choices for play after snack, often including opportunities for gross motor play outside.

Goodbye Circle: Time for end of the morning check-in with the children, closing songs/read aloud time.

Departure: Help children transition back to parents/caregivers with one more hug until the next TMO day!

How can I be involved in my child's school experience?

TMO values integrating parents into their child’s educational experience and welcomes visits from parents anytime. While we do not require parent participation, our classroom doors are always open. This year, parent participation in the classroom has been more limited, but there are still ways to be involved–just let Margaret know you would like to help!
